Small Business Partnership Registration

USSMC's first two tailored small business mentoring sessions held on August 12, 2016, at the Virginia Union University's Sidney Lewis School of Business was a success as the small disadvantaged small business owners were making adjustments in understanding what a real business plan should exhibit for 8(a) companies. Brenda Ponsford, PhD, J.D. Dean of the School also joins in.

Virginia Union University’s Small Business Development Center will be hosting free small group mentoring with seminars for selected 8(a) companies. 

You are invited to participate in seven free seminars tailored for 8(a) companies...........


The Virginia Union University's Sydney of School of Business is sponsoring Small Business Training  

starting August 12, 2016 to September 9, 2016.  See schedule under registration. Training Participant must check each module interested in. This training is designed to strengthen the capacity and opportunities for small businesses.


This Tailored Technical Training will also help increase technical capability and networking skills of the businesses. The seminar sessions follow sequentially, so it is highly recommended, although not required, to attend all of the sessions. 


The US Small Business Administration is partner for this endeavor and USSMC is the Training Vendor of Choice.  All of the seminars will be conducted by Brenda Campbell, MSW,MBA, President/CEO, Unlimited Services Systems Management and Consultants, Inc.


The Emerging Leaders Bootcamp can be registered by VUU Students who are interested in expanding their knowledge in the small business area of the government and commercial organizations. Undergraduate

business majors (freshmen-senior)

2-4 socioeconomically disadvantaged

small business owners. Each owner may bring 1 person. Maximum 8 clients for Emerging Leaders Boot Camp

Parking:

All of the seminars will be held on Fridays (dates listed below) in Room 207, Pickford Hall, VUU campus, 1500 N. Lombardy St., Richmond, VA  23220. A campus map is available with the buildings numbered.


Free parking is available  (in non-reserved spots) next to the Wilder Library or across the street near the football field.  Pickford Hall is a stately grey stone building with the circular driveway holding the tall flagpoles set-back from N. Lombardy St.  Wilder Library is down the grassy hill from Pickford and that parking lot is the most convenient to Pickford. 


Lunch

Lunch will be on your own but there are university dining facilities in the Henderson Student Center with very reasonably priced food.  The options are:

  • Made to order sandwiches and other fast food in the Mondo Sub Shop, ground floor
  • All you can eat in the 2nd floor general student dining hall for around $8.00.
  • Limited selection in a quiet “faculty dining room”  on the 2nd floor for around $8.00.
